A New Week
I think I’m ready to start this week. I’m showered (hair still wet, as you can see), I’m dressed, I’m sitting in my favorite spot in my comfy chair in the “Big Room” (our playroom/homeschool room) and updating my GoodReads.com account (via the wonderful iphone app!) with the books my son read yesterday. Yes, the new bookworm. Have I mentioned his newfound bookwormyness here? Hm, I don’t think I have! I’ve been quite lax at updating this blog lately…time to change that. Can’t promise there will be any consistency in it, but I would LIKE to get in the habit of posting more here, to help inspire ME more! (And in the process, I imagine y’all as well!)
Ok so here’s the latest:
Made it through the holidays (always crazy hectic, though I think I did well at maintaining a calm and refusal to succumb to too much of the stress this year…just barely), came out the other side with the members of my family falling, one-by-one, ill with some sort of gnarly bug that lingered for weeks. Knocked us all off our feet and still surrounded us as we headed to the beach Jan 11 (courtesy of my parents. If it weren’t for their generosity, we’d never be able to afford to leave town!) Halfway through our week-long vacation, we all started to sound and feel better…by the end, we were well! (Well, except for this lingering cough).
Now we’ve returned home (as of 3 days ago) and worked our way slowly back into our lives. Glad to be home and able to finally get back into “normal” again. (Whatever that means!)
So now I need to get off my butt and get my kids school stuff sorted out for today because we ARE going to do schoolwork today (it’s been over a week, I think it’s time!) And I had started getting organized with plans before we headed out on vacation, so it’s time to put some of that in action!!
More on the bookworm later…he’s begging me to help cut him some cantaloupe…must go be a mommy!
