I, Tina Smith, am the sole owner of the information collected on this site.
For Homeschool Realm I collect name and email address for my email list, but this is a double
I will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
I will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted me.
I will only share your information with a third party outside of my business as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to collect payment and send you your product.
If you subscribe to one of my email lists, I will contact you via email (until you ask me not to) to tell you about updates/news, specials, events, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.
In addition to the info mentioned above, the following information may be collected if you interact with my website in the following ways:
What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it
COMMENTS – When you leave a comment on my site the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
COOKIES – If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices.
SEARCH LOGS – All searches performed using the internal site search are logged in the database, including the following information: the search query, the number of hits found, the user ID for users who are logged in, the date and time, and the IP address. The IP address is stored for security and auditing purposes.
EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES – Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos, Amazon listings, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How long we retain your data
COOKIES – Comment cookies last for a year. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
SEARCH LOGS – The search logs are stored indefinitely.
COMMENTS – If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely (unless I have a reason to delete them, such as inappropriate comments or ones that are no longer relevant.) This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
You can unsubscribe at any time from my email lists via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email I send to you. You can do the following at any time by contacting me via the email address given on my contact page:
- See what data I have about you if any.
- Change/correct any data I have about you.
- Have me delete any data I have about you.
- Express any concern you have about my use of your data.
Security
I take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever I collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to me in a secure way (via Paypal). You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While I use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, I also protect your information offline. I am the only one granted access to personally identifiable information. The computer/servers in which I store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
